Packing List & Provided Items

Suggested packing list

  • Alarm clock
  • Backpack/bag for school
  • One outlet adaptor
  • Electronics and corresponding chargers (check voltage)
  • Clothing/shoes
    • Consider packing a range of attire: from casual to formal, and clothing that can be layered. No matter the temperature outside, indoor places are often heavily air-conditioned 
    • Note: in Qatar, it is appropriate to keep shoulders and knees covered
    • For school spirit and student activities, consider bringing purple clothing (our school color), cultural attire, and even costume items for themed events
  • Umbrella (it does rain sometimes, mainly in winter)
  • Room decor: posters, photos, decorative items, extra pillows
  • Toiletries — you can buy most toiletries in Qatar, but you may want to pack any unique things that you can't live without
  • Medication
  • Extra pair of glasses/contact lenses and contact lens solution
  • Electric toothbrush heads
  • Bedding (sheets, comforter, 1 pillow). Suggested sizes based on the QF Residence Hall beds are:
    • Fitted sheet: L 202 x W 140 x H 25 cm
    • Flat sheet: W 180 x 270 cm
    • Pillow: W 50 x L 70 x H 10
  • Towels

Provided Items: Single Dorm Room

If you are living in a single Residence Hall room (first-year students), the following is provided in your room:

  • Large TV screen
  • Small refrigerator
  • Desk and desk chair
  • Room telephone
  • Shelving and closet space
  • En suite bathroom
  • 1 Hair dryer
  • 1 trash can

On-campus apartments are fully furnished. The following is provided:

  • Large TV screens in sitting room and bedroom
  • Couches, tables, lamps
  • Full kitchen with appliances: stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer unit, kitchen counter chairs

  • Electric kettle
  • Desk and desk chair

Qatar has many shopping centers, malls, and pharmacies. Among other things, you can find the following items in Qatar:
