Self Service

Self Service for macOS is an application installed on NU-Q IT-provided Apple computers aimed at allowing students, staff, and faculty to install common applications, run commands, and install Mac App Store Apps required for their time at NU-Q. Users can also run updates pushed by NU-Q IT to keep software up to date.

Where is Self Service located on my Mac? 

You can find the Self Service application on your Mac computer by navigating to:
Finder → Applications → Self Service.

lynda.com Learning Library

Lynda is a web-based program the provides tutorials and how-to videos on a variety of topics. Northwestern students can access Lynda for free:

  1. Go to lynda.com/signin/organization
  2. Enter northwestern.edu into the provided field
  3. Log in with your Northwestern NetID and password
