Student Position: Course Assistant 4
Seeking a course assistant for MIT 190 class. The class meets M & W at 8:30am-9:45am and Thursdays from 2:30-4:30pm.
Responsibilities
- CA would be expected to most sessions, preferably at least 2 out of the 3 per week.
- CA will help to monitor and moderate student discussions in-person and on Canvas.
- CA will be first point of contact for students needing clarification on homework assignments.
- CA will assist with scheduling and coordinating logistics with guest speakers.
- CA will photocopy and upload additional reading materials for students
- CA will help to set-up film screenings and trouble shoot with technical issues
- CA will assist and attend field trips outside of class hours
In addition to:
- Assist in keeping careful records of student attendance
- Manage the input of non-graded work
- Scanning, photocopying, and uploading course materials
- Coordinating library course reserves
- Scheduling student presentations
- Organizing and distributing learning materials
- Other administrative or support functions as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good academic, integrity, and conduct standing
Preferred Qualifications:
- CA would be expected to attend most sessions, preferrably at least 2 out of the 3 per week.
- Junior or senior. Priority will be given to applicants who have taken the class already.

- Ability to multitask, initiate and follow-through on projects, plan ahead, and manage time.
- Display strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of CANVAS
- Attention to detail
- Capacity to work professionally with peers
- Design Canvas learning modules at the instructor’s direction
- Mentorship of student peers in library research, production, or other study skills
- Provide feedback to Instructor on Course Development and Assessment based on previous experience
