Student Position: Department Assistant 1- MIT 390: Directing the Camera
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist students in MIT 390: Directing the Camera by acting in their short scenes filmed during class time.
- Sign up to act in scenes on a weekly basis based on availability of roles and need of actors for assigned scenes.
- Liaise with assigned directors of the week and counterpart student actors to rehearse assigned scripts prior to class time.
- Full commitment to assigned scenes with regards to acting as per the student director's instructions, showing up to studio class by assigned call time, receiving feedback on set from student director and implementing any remarks as noted.
- Work as a team player with counterpart student actors and rehearsing assigned scripts together to ensure the student director's instructions are demonstrated through acting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good academic, integrity, and conduct standing
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to memorize script lines and deliver them as instructed by student directors.
- Ability to improvise lines if ever needed.
- Availability to commit and act during class time (Fall Semester - Sundays from 5:30PM - 8:30PM).
- Prior experience in acting or having taken an acting class in the past is preferred, but not required.
