Student Position: Digital Asset Management Project
The communications and public affairs office at Northwestern University in Qatar is seeking a detail-orientated and responsible student to assist with updating Northwestern Qatar’s digital asset management system.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the university's photo archival system, MDAM, by ensuring that photographs from institutional events are archived through cataloging, tagging, writing descriptions, and managing metadata according to the MDAM guidelines.
- Reviewing previous entries for inconsistencies and quality assurance.
- Assist faculty, staff, and other university members in utilizing the MDAM system, providing resources and guidance as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the department’s digital asset management and archival needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good academic, integrity, and conduct standing
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Aptitude for technology with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of archived media.
- A foundational understanding of media and photography principles, with the ability to identify which photographs are appropriate for archiving.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative, and following through on assigned projects.
