Student Position: Exhibitions Research Assistant 1
Responsibilities:
- In-depth research for upcoming exhibitions at the Media Majlis Museum, including topics
such as memes, social movements and gulf futurism using various platforms, scholarly or
otherwise focusing on the global south - Compiling of research into comprehensive written documents or visual presentations on
a bi-weekly basis including articles, industry reports and social media - Suggestion of content, topics or people for inclusion in exhibitions
- Developing a bank of mini case studies for in-exhibition use or for reference
- Generating reference/source lists
Minimum Qualifications:
- Fluent in English, with a preference for speakers of Arabic or other languages
- Good academic standing
- Familiarity with the global south
- Familiarity with Media Majlis Museum
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous experience with scholarly and non-scholarly research
- Interest in art, media and technology
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Ability to perform various research tasks assigned by museum curators
- Ability to work collaboratively with curators and other research assistants
