Student Position: Research Assistant 2

Responsibilities:
Research Support:
- Conduct background research on Arab digital media industries, including trends, platforms, policies, and case studies.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data from primary and secondary sources, such as academic articles, reports, and online databases.
- Maintain organized records of research materials and data
Content Development:
- Provide concise short reports – briefings
- Prepare visual aids (charts, graphs, presentations) to support research dissemination.
- Other tasks as assigned
- Schedule and organize interviews with industry executives, policymakers and others.
- Develop interview guides and transcribe recorded interviews for analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good academic standing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous RA experience
- Knowledge of Arabic language
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Some coursework or experience in the field (e.g., Exploring Global Media, Media Management, Understanding Global Media)
- Familiarity with digital media platforms, industry dynamics, and cultural trends in the Middle East.
- Demonstrated administrative experience and undergraduate-level familiarity with the subject matter
- High attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to work with faculty supervision in a collegial manner
- Excellent writing skills (English)
- Demonstrated ability to follow-through on projects, to proactively plan, and to manage time-sensitive matters.
