Student Position: Media Majlis Museum Department Assistant 3
Media Majlis Museum’s multimedia Assistant’s primary responsibilities will revolve around covering Media Majlis Museum’s exhibition and related events and programs, primarily for social media management.
Multimedia assistant is expected to plan, set up, and cover Media Majlis Museum exhibition and related events as per guidelines by the department. This mid-level role involves preparing photos for distribution on social media, configuring, operating photo equipment, translating social media content and caption in addition to creative problem solving and technical knowledge. Often Media Majlis Museum will have short-term work that can involve irregular hours as opposed to regular shifts. We are currently looking for students who have a passion for taking pictures, and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Covering events and creating social media content occasionally including photos and short videos.
- Collaborating with Media Majlis Majlis Museum’s Manager of Digital Content with content creation and social media management.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and Media Majlis Museum department
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current third or fourth year NU-Q student
- Good academic, integrity, and conduct standing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Facebook, X, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube/Vimeo.
- Familiarity with photography techniques–student must have prior knowledge regarding appropriate lighting, shutter speeds, filters, and lenses for specific assigned tasks
- Multimedia editing–basic image and video editing skills to retouch and enhance photos and videos
- Proficient in design in PhotoShop, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator etc.
- Proficient in filming and editing in Adobe Premiere.
- Sensitive to confidential information and media release permissions
- Responsive to emails and communicative with supervisor
- Display strong interpersonal skills, including a degree of professionalism as needed to function in an office environment.
