Student Position: Department Assistant 3: IT TLS
Responsibilities:
- Design Canvas learning modules at the supervisor’s direction
- Creating infographics and presentations as required by the professional staff members of the department
- Ideate, conceptualize, and execute projects with minimal supervision
- Record and edit short video tutorials (e.g. screencasts to show a step-by-step process)
- Provide feedback on UI and UX in Canvas courses
- User test new technology, surveys, and assignments
- Assist in workshops and other feedback sessions
- Provide logistical assistance with departmental events and initiatives (e.g. taking photos during events)
- Must attend regular meetings, training, and evaluations
- Other administrative or support functions as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good academic, integrity, and conduct standing
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to follow-through on projects, to proactively plan, and to manage time sensitive matters
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite, including the ability to effectively use Canvas and Zoom
- Display strong interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Capacity to collaborate professionally with peers
- Exemplary study habits, research, and production skills
- Willingness to learn new skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in student technology, peer support, instructional support, or comparable campus role
- Experience supporting others with learning technologies, digital tools, course materials, or academic projects
- Interest in inclusive, accessible, and student-centered uses of technology in teaching and learning
