Student Position: Production Assistant 2
We’re seeking a creative and dependable student to join our team as a Social Media Videographer. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our digital storytelling by creating short-form video content that showcases campus life, behind-the-scenes stories, and special events for our Instagram and other social media platforms. If you're passionate about filming, editing, and producing content that resonates with students, we’d love to work with you.
Responsibilities:
- Film and edit short-form video content (primarily vertical) for Instagram Reels
- Follow provided scripts and storyboards to capture a consistent tone and quality content
- Capture footage for events, student activities, and daily campus life to create authentic, dynamic footage
- Collaborate with the production coordinator to brainstorm, plan, and pitch content ideas
- Assist with pre-production (on tasks such as scheduling, finding and coordinating with actors, and organising shoot logistics
- Set up and break down basic gear, including lights, microphones, and tripods
- Help maintain and contribute to the department’s content calendar by aligning video projects with key university moments and student interests
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled student at Northwestern Qatar.
- Successful completion of MIT-190 or JOUR 100 and authorised to operate basic university-provided filming equipment.
- Strong interest in social media trends, video storytelling, and campus life.
- Familiarity with mobile editing apps (e.g., Canva, Cap Cut, Adobe) or basic desktop software.
